Mastering grenache in its most intimate subtleties, Dominique Ay is a prominent figure in Gigondas, now seamlessly succeeded by his children Anne-Sophie and Christophe. Their Domaine Raspail-Ay has reached new heights, crafting wines of rare complexity and finesse, among the best of the appellation.
The high-altitude terroir—19 ha of contiguous land with vines averaging 60 years old—helps maintain a vital freshness, while lengthy aging in large containers, first in oak foudres then in concrete vats, refines the mature, vigorous materials, always brimming with elegant fruit, destined for prolonged aging.
