Wine:

Rich and velvety, with just the right ripeness, the Lirac La Lorentine Red 2022 delivers layers of ripe black fruit, bay leaf, wild herbs, and the distinctive eucalyptus notes of Mourvèdre—a wine that goes beyond the expectations of its appellation. As Olivier Poussier puts it, “The best estates in Lirac are always those from Châteauneuf,” and this wine proves exactly that. Its juicy profile, vibrant fruit, and generous, fleshy texture, supported by silky tannins, make it simply irresistible. A full, ripe wine that remains fresh, balanced, and approachable, with the potential to age gracefully for 7 to 8 years. A favourite of the Best Sommelier in the World, rated 92/100.

Vinification:

Hand harvested in 50kg crates. The grapes are destemmed, crushed and cooled. Matured in concrete vats and tuns.

A top name in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with three stars in the RVF guide, Domaine de Marcoux is one of the Rhône Valley’s most respected estates.

Working biodynamically, they produce wines with depth, energy, and a real sense of place, without relying on oak to shape their character. With ripe, expressive Grenache at the core, these wines have the balance and structure to age beautifully, standing among the best in the appellation.

In Lirac, the same attention to detail shines through—Olivier Poussier even calls them the finest wines of the appellation.
