Wine:

Buoyed by a superb vintage, the 2020 red Haut-Médoc de Maucaillou unveils its delicious, energetic and fruity character. It's a highly accessible Bordeaux classic, evolving between ripe fruit, smooth tannins, restrained power and well-adjusted ageing. A universal red that's a pleasure to drink.

Vinification:

Mechanical harvest followed by hand sorting in the winery. Traditional, separate vinification for each grape variety in temperature-controlled stainless-steel vats.
Aged in barrels for 18 months, 40% new, 40% one-wine and 20% two-wine.

Color:

Bright ruby red.

Nose:

Beautiful red and black fruit aromas.

Palate:

Luscious and suave, with fully ripe fruit, this wine has silky tannins, controlled ageing and restrained power.

Temperature:

Serve between 14 and 16°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Duck breast, roasted squash and mushrooms, rack of lamb with pepper, beef fillet on a vitelotte potato crumble.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2030, and even longer for enthusiasts.
