Wine:

Offering one of the most mineral expressions of Mercurey, the 2021 red Mercurey 1er Cru Monopole Clos des Grand Voyens embodies Pinot Noir in its purest form. It presents a slightly austere, sanguine profile, yet with undeniable potential. The perfectly encased structure, backed by beautifully mature grapes, carries vigorous tannins that blossom into a rich and refined finish: this is undoubtedly a great wine for aging, best reserved in the cellar. Rated 94/100 by RVF.

Vinification:

Hand-harvested, aged in oak barrels for 12 months, of which 30% are new.

Color:

Dark, brilliant red.

Nose:

Beautifully ripe grapes, with aromas of red fruit and fine spicy notes.

Palate:

Pure and sheathed in full-bodied flavors of fruit, this youthful wine needs to be cellared for some time yet

Temperature:

Serve between 16 and 18°C.

Food and wine pairing:

Roast beef, game birds, veal chop with sage, whole veal liver, roast Bresse poultry or capon with wild mushrooms.

Cellar aging:

From now until 2033, and even longer for enthusiasts.
