Wine:

Sourced largely from the family’s vineyards and the young vines of the famed Clos des Mouches, the 2019 White Côte de Beaune follows in the footsteps of its distinguished elder. Grown on top-quality, light clay-limestone soils, the Chardonnay reveals remarkable finesse.

A gentle barrel aging—using just 10 to 15% new oak—enhances the wine’s elegance and purity. It’s a true delight, offering generous, ripe, and complex fruit flavors, lifted by a hint of citrus zest. With time, these will evolve beautifully into notes of toasted hazelnut. A magnificent white to enjoy now, or cellar for a few more years for even greater depth.

Vinification:

Hand harvested. Slow pressing of whole grapes in a pneumatic press. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation followed by ageing in oak barrels, 10 to 15% of which are new, for 12 to 14 months.
Mostly from grapes grown on the Drouhin family's estates (including the young vines of Clos des Mouches) and grapes and musts purchased from partner producers according to strict specifications.

Color:

Pale gold with beautiful intensity and brilliance.

Nose:

Aromas of white fruit punctuated by honeyed notes, almond and hints of lemongrass.

Palate:

Delicate and pure, with ripe fruity notes, this wine is full-bodied and complex, with a hint of zest that develops into roasted hazelnut aromas as it ages.

Temperature:

Serve between 10 and 12°C.

Food and wine pairing:

White fish in a creamy sauce, seafood platter, pressed cheese.

Cellar aging:

From today until 2028.
